My father's grandfather was born in Judique around 1839, his name was Charles MacKay or McKay. Are there vital records available for that time? How can I locate information on my relatives there. His father was Donald MacKay or McKay.

    Hi all,

I've compiled a short sketch (16 pages) of the Judique MacKays that traces them back to the Isle of Muck in Scotland. Iam quite willing to share it with anyone who is willing to add more data to the family history.

I am looking for a Robert Mackay born in 1819 in Inverness County, NS and his wife Isabella McGilvery also born in 1819 in Inverness County. They had a son, Charles, born in Judique but eventually moved to Salem, MASS. where in died in 1921. Charles married Mary Jane Windford (b. 1847 Belfast and d. 6 March 1937 in Salem). Have lots of data myself on various Mackays elsewhere in NS, Ontario, etc. and would be glad to search it if people have queries of their own.
