I am looking for a Mary McInnis who left Cape Breton around 1920 -1925 for Ottawa. She lived in either Judique or Port Hood but never did return. She had a siser named Peggy who married a MacDonald. I am pretty sure she married and had at least one son I think may be in the Armed Forces. A little vague but I would be so grateful if anyone had any information that could lead me to her. Thank you in advance. Lynn MacDonald
mary macinnis was formly from glendale, she did lots of housekeeping in the judique intervale area.she had a son joe andrew macdonald born around 1921 died in halifax about 3 weeks ago at 86 years. his father would be a great uncle to my mother.my father has a great memory for history of the old poeple around here....my name is Carl MacEachern from judique
Oh !!!!!! I cannot believe I have found you. Joe Andrew was my father and yes he did just pass away. I am heart broken. Do you know anything more about her. Did she marry? Did she have any children? Where is she buried? I would be so grateful to know anything about her. Dad did meet Collie, brother to Alex dad's father. Collie would also be your mother's great uncle. (I think) Dad travelled to Windsor, Ont to see him. He also had a long term relationship with John Francis "Lofty" MacMillan. Lofty was dad's cousin through Collie. I would love to keep in touch with you if you didn't mind. Thank you so much. Lynn
it's a small world you would be my 2nd cousin... joe andrews father would be an uncle to my mother (not great uncle) there isn't much more i can give you my father will work on a few leads for you. he doesn't think that she is buried around here.i also work at the parrish cematary and have a map of all the graves there...hope to help you....my father is malcolm maceachern and mothers name is veronica(gillis).
Hello 2nd cousin : ) that's soooooo great......I have been looking for so long for information about Mary McInnis. I don't think she ever returned to Cape Breton so she is probably buried in or around Ottawa where she migrated to way back when dad was a baby. If there is anything at all that could lead me to her relatives it would mean so much to me and my family. Not knowing who Dad's mother was is something that we all have struggled with for many years. I have 4 brothers Bryan, Terry, Michael and Darrell. My brother Joseph Edward passed away at 52 years of age in April of 2000. They will be thrilled when I tell them about you and your family. Say hello to Malcolm and Veronica for me. : ) Lynn

Dear Carl, I can't tell you what this means to me. Dad has been looking for his mother for so long. I been looking through Census and Genealogy Sites for years but could never find anything. We did get some information but it always lead to a "dead end" We were told that there was a man dressed in either a Navy or Army uniform asking about Dad a few years back. He had apparently stopped in front of someones house in Judique and asked if that was where Joe Andrew had lived. Maybe it was someone that was with Mary when she was here. We had hoped at the time that whomever it was would contact Dad but they never did. Annie MacDonald here in Halifax was telling Dad this but it was so vague that I couldn't find out any more. Do you think you could find out what her married name was and where her two son's are now and what their names are? I would be so grateful. I think Wayne and I are also 2nd cousins. Can you say hi to him for me. Thanks so much Carl. This really means a lot to me. Lynn
Hi Carl, IYes, I did get your email. I am sorry I should have let you know. I had to put this aside for awhile. With Dad's death so recent I found that it was very hard for me to deal with some of the questions I needed answers to. In saying that I need you to know how much your help means to me. One of my friends and I are planning to go to Cape Breton this Spring or early Summer. She hails from the Sampson's of the Chetticamp area so we wanted to take a little tour down that way. I hope to meet you and Wayne. Bye for now. Lynn MacDonald
P.S. I would love to meet your father as well. Tell him I said hello.
New to this site. Was reading "looking for my two cousins" and saw a msg that said, Little Mary was the daughter of Roderick McInnis. Roderick is my Great Grandfather. I am descended through his second wife, Margaret Campbell and thier daughter Mary Catherine. (May) She left Judique at age 14 or 15 for Boston & eventually wound up in New Jersey, married to George Sigler. My mother, Margaret, is thier daughter. I know Roderick was married two times, is Little Mary a daughter from his first wife? Have been working on finding out who wife #1 is and Roderick's parental background. Any info would be great. Or any I can give. Thanks Terri Hansen Drehmann
