    I am searching for information on my missing link to James MacDonald(Baillie), who emigrated from Moidart, Scotland. I believe he is buried in the cemetery at Arisaig, NS. One of the sons of James-Donald Ban, Alasdair(Alexander) or Ronald would be father to my ggg grandfather James MacDonald. I was told that my ggg grandfather James, was born on the ship coming over from the Isle of Skye. James MacDonald (clan sheumas) was found in Strathlorne, NS, as married to Mary MacIsaac, d/o Murdoch(Canna). James and Mary moved in 1853 to Newfoundland with their grown family. Donald Big Dan MacDonald (1836)married a Mary MacIsaac. Alexander (1833)married Katherine "Kate" MacIsaac and Sarah married Donald" Daniel" MacIsaac. We believe the MacIsaac in-laws are first cousins. 3 other siblings married Me/Madores and one married a Pottle while Angus remained unmarried. We have not been able to tie into other MacDonalds and MacIsaacs in Nfld but we are close.

    We are Jacobites. We are eager to solve the riddles that remain in our family tree and record our place in the line of Donald Mor MacDonald. We also have clan ranald ties. Any help would be appreciated.
